Instead of the low ceilings and dark interiors of traditional cottages, it has a stunning double height kitchen/dining room which is filled with light from the glazed end wall. The exposed oak beams give it enormous character and charm so most people think this is an old property expertly renovated. In fact, it is newly built, but with its wooden floors, oak beams and hand made oak doors, windows and staircase, it feels just right – as if it has always been there.
At the back, it has French doors opening onto a wisteria fringed patio, which in summer is a real sun spot. And tucked under the eaves, the charming double bedroom has sloping ceilings, so mind your head! The sofa bed in the living room sleeps two and there’s a convenient downstairs cloakroom, so although there’s only one en-suite shower room, four people can stay here.
The village has a very friendly pub which serves good food, while just down the road is a pizza shack. And should you venture a bit further you’ll find a burgeoning foodie scene throughout the area with all tastes and pockets catered for. From here you can reach the beautiful sandy beaches of the North Norfolk coast in just over thirty minutes and be in the heart of the Broads or the fine city of Norwich in under 40 minutes. So, you really can see the three highlights of Norfolk in one trip.
Discover Cromer with its famous pier, Blakeney and Wells-next-the-Sea with their picturesque quays or the beautiful unspoiled sandy beaches of Holkham. Go bird watching, or catch a boat from Morston to see the seals or head to Wroxham to join a cruise on the Norfolk Broads. Then for a change of pace, go to Norwich and explore the splendid cathedral, the Norman castle, numerous museums, galleries and theatres and the award-winning open-air market and twisty Lanes.
