The 50-acre Millennium Green (the largest in England) surrounds the town, giving you convenient access to wonderful woodlands, rivers, ponds, heathland and orchards. If the sea is calling, you needn’t go far, with the popular sandy-beached resorts of Southwold and Walberswick both within easy reach (9 miles and 8.5 miles respectively). Birdwatchers will likely make a beeline for the RSPB Minsmere (11.5 miles) while history buffs will love exploring the medieval friary ruins at Dunwich (9.5 miles), a village with a charming pebble beach.
