Or head to Elterwater (7.5 miles) and set off for a serene riverside stroll beneath the Langdale Pikes. Get in the saddle and explore the fantastic trails at Grizedale Forest (3.5 miles) by bike, or make a beeline for Bowness-on-Windermere (10 miles) to hop aboard a boat for a scenic cruise of England's longest lake. Afterwards, come home to Hawkshead and treat yourself to a sweet afternoon tea in a quaint teashop.
Step inside your cottage and head upstairs to the living room – an elegant space with an electric fire sitting on a slate hearth. The views towards Latterbarrow make this the perfect spot to unwind. When it's time to eat, make your way downstairs to the farmhouse-style kitchen/diner – a beautiful room with impressive wooden beams and exposed stone flag walls. After dinner, head back to the living room to catch up on your favourite TV shows. You'll find one double bedroom on the ground floor, as well as one with an en-suite shower room on the first floor. A family bathroom with a walk-in shower on the ground floor completes the layout.
Outside, you'll find a secluded courtyard, as well as a split-level area with views of Hawkshead Church. Please supervise any children as there is a drop from the garden down to the river.
