The nearest beach at Looe is less than 12 miles from your door – you can drive or take a scenic train journey from the market town of Liskeard (3 miles). Polzeath Beach on the north coast is less than 30 miles away. Visit the historic houses of Cotehele, Lanhydrock and Port Eliot, all within 14 miles, or the attractions of Carnglaze Caverns or Porfell Wildlife Park, both less than 10 miles away.
This impressive getaway has been carefully designed to offer superb style, practicality and relaxation, with wonderful luxuries throughout. A stunning property build from stone and slate, it features a reverse-level layout over two storeys, with six steps up to the entrance on the first floor. From the spacious hallway you can enter straight into the pool room, where you can have a quick dip or swim some lengths, followed by a shower in the wet room and perhaps a refreshing drink at the poolside dining table, which has beautiful views through the windows. Also leading off the hall, via three steps up, is the open-plan living space, in which plush seating surrounds a Smart TV, ready for film nights, cartoons or catching up on a must-see series. The kitchen at the far end includes everything you’ll need to conjure up hearty breakfasts and delicious dinners, with a dishwasher for convenience, and the sturdy dining table has plenty of room for six people to linger over sociable meals. Sliding doors from the living space lead to a small balcony. Also on this level is a comfortable king-size bedroom with handsome timber furniture, ample storage, a TV and an en-suite shower room. Head down to the ground floor to find two further bedrooms, a super-king-size and a twin (the latter with larger-than-average beds), both boasting en-suites and TVs, as well as direct access to the terrace – perfect for a morning coffee or a sundowner.
The gardens are just as incredible as the house itself, carefully tended and extending to 2 acres, including an ornamental lake which often attracts wild ducks (please supervise children nearby). As well as setting up fresh-air meals on the terrace, you can play with your pet and little ones on the lawn, or find a quiet corner in which to sit in the sun with a book.
