This is a great place to pick up local produce for your supper, thanks to the excellent array of independent shops and open-air markets. The town also has a fantastic range of pubs and restaurants, and is home to England’s smallest Norman castle. For a fun, family day out, journey to Bowland Wild Boar Park (10 miles), where little ones can meet the animals, burn off steam in the play areas, and ride on the tractors.
