The beach below is a sweep of sand framed by headlands, with cafes and a surf school in the village. The South West Coast Path runs along the clifftops here, leading to Watergate Bay (2.5 miles), where wide sands stretch beneath sea cliffs. In the other direction, Bedruthan Steps (3 miles) is famous for the dramatic sea stacks rising from the shore with long views along the coast. A historic Iron Age site sits on the headland at Mawgan Porth, one of several ancient remains scattered along this stretch of the coast.
