Set in a 2.5 acre plot, the grounds include the original walled-garden, now being cultivated as a wild-flower meadow, ancient woodland and an orchard.
The cottage offers accommodation for six in three double bedrooms (1 King, 1 Double and 2 Single beds), a luxury bathroom with free standing bath and shower, a large lounge with oak floors and wood burning stove, fully fitted kitchen with range cooker, a beautiful dining room with limestone floor and open fire, a conservatory, cloakroom/drying room and downstairs toilet.
Caldhu Cottage is ideally located for those wishing to explore the mountains, lakes and beaches of the Western Lakes. Just 15 minutes from Wastwater, Cumbria's deepest and, many would say, most beautiful lake, the location is perfect for swimming, canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding. It also provides easy access to Wasdale Head, the starting point for some of the best hikes the Lake District can offer including Scafell Pike, England's highest mountain and the iconic Great Gable. The area is also a mecca for mountain biking with nearby rides suitable for all abilities.
Drigg Beach and its sand dunes - famous for it's "knot" of Natterjack toads - is only 3 miles from the cottage and is perfect for a sunset barbeque or dog walk. Ten minutes by car brings you to Muncaster Castle, famous for its Hawk & Owl Centre and nearby Ravensglass, home of the wonderful La'll Ratty Steam Railway.
