Positive: The stand out factor for me, was the location. The beautiful countryside scenery out of every window in the house almost. The village the cottage is located in, is just idyllic. The interior of the house itself, was lovely. Including the tasteful way it’s been painted and styled. I enjoyed the fact that it was on three floors too - which I wasn’t expecting) this isn’t really clear on the description for some reason) The downstairs utility/bathroom was extremely handy to have - I actually took that space over and used it like it was an en-suite….seeing as there were five of us needing our own privacy and wash facilities etc) The kitchen area was my favourite part of our stay. I loved the design of the open plan living area combined with it, which lent itself well to the social aspect of our stay.
Negative: I was very disappointed over the fact that it’s clearly stated on the advertising of the home, that They provided ‘free toiletries’ these were not included tho? So this needs to be amended on the criteria. Also the promise that there would be washing machine pods (had to begrudgingly buy a pack of them - where by we’d of taken some with us, if they hadn’t of made out there would be definitely be provided. That alongside of a dish washer ..This was also mentioned in the right up. No sign of one??! …Takes away the joy slightly of your stay, when you are washing up after every meal - So this needs also, to be amended on the description of the house facilities. One more thing that caused an issue. No sign of a washing clothes horse or even a washing line (one that can be retractable) I had to lay clean washing out over the furniture and over the settee outside. Maybe buy one for the future guests? Finally…. I was met with a message from Oracle property on our second/third day in, asking if we can vacate the property to allow for a PAT test to be conducted. Either that, or we can leave behind the key for them to be able to proceed with the test. This I wasn’t happy about, and although initially I agreed to it…it was only a few minutes later after further thought, that I was quite cross about their inconsiderate message - which ended up with me replying with evidential proof that such tests should not be carried out whilst guests are staying at a holiday home. They should not going forward, ever message a family or any other guest stopping at the property for a holiday break, asking if any sort of test to be performed. Instead - like I advised on my response to them) They need to schedule these procedure tests, so they coordinate with the housekeeping team - basically when they’re isn’t any holiday makers occupying the property at that time.
