2 Bedroom Cottage in Fylingthorpe
Robin Hood's Bay 0.75 miles. This delightful, detached stone cottage is centrally situated in the small village of Fylingthorpe, just a 15 minute walk from the historic fishing village of Robin Hood's Bay. Deceptively spacious, the property is perfectly placed for exploring the spectacular scenery of the North York Moors National Park and the dramatic coastline of this beautiful area. Inside, a small entry porch leads to the comfortable sitting room, complete with a cosy open fire to toast your toes by on cooler evenings! Retaining much character, with beamed ceilings, stripped pine doors and feature fireplaces, there is a large separate dining room with a small study area, plus a modern kitchen with an exposed stone wall and a small breakfast bar. Upstairs, both bedrooms offer plenty of space and the double enjoys the luxury of an en-suite freestanding bath, whilst the family room has pleasant views over the countryside. Outside the cottage is a very pretty enclosed courtyard, with cottage garden plants and shrubs; a lovely sheltered spot in which to sit and relax in the sunshine with a morning coffee before heading out for the day. The village itself has excellent facilities, including a shop with an on-site butcher, baker and superb take-away, as well as a general store and a friendly inn serving food. From the village, an easy walk over the fields brings you to the ancient fishing village of Robin Hood's Bay, with its steep, winding cobbled streets lined with quaint cottages tumbling down towards the sea. Explore the dramatic coastline and heather-clad moors, discover the delights of nearby Whitby, or visit the pretty market towns of Malton, Helmsley and Pickering further inland. This excellent cottage is situated in an area with a wealth of activities to suit everyone, making it perfect for an enjoyable Yorkshire holiday.
With its narrow cobbled streets and quaint cottages, Robin Hood's Bay is one of the most picturesque villages on the English coastline. Set between Scarborough and Whitby, this charming settlement is located on a wide, sweeping bay backed by spectacular cliffs and dramatic moorland scenery. With numerous, relatively easy walks along the cliff top and more challenging routes such as the Cleveland Way, the Lyke Wake Walk and the Coast to Coast Walks, all levels of ramblers will be catered for. With superb village amenities, charming alleyways to explore and plenty of places to rest, this is perfect base from which to enjoy the Yorkshire Coast.
