Summary: Hame Hotel is in Dunvegan, so it's a bit out of the way from Portree (where most people stay). That turned out to be a blessing - our area was quiet, free from traffic, and still convenient to many sights like the Fairy Pools, Talisker Distillery, Dunvegan Castle, and the Three Chimneys restaurant. By contrast, Portree was a nonstop traffic jam, even in September. Our room was comfortable, and breakfast was filling and tasty. We didn't have dinner at the hotel because we failed to make a reservation - keep that in mind if you want to get dinner here, Skye has a lot more tourists than locals, which means things can fill up quickly.
