Summary: We had a fantastic stay at Calais View. When we arrived, Tim was there to meet us and made us feel welcome right from the beginning. The flat was impeccably clean. Walking in through French windows you enter the lounge, which is furnished to the highest standards and very cosy with its warm creamy colours. You immediately feel at home. In the back of the ground floor there is the large and very well-equipped kitchen. Upon arrival we were offered a welcome basket with lots of nice goodies in it. How very attentive! Thanks a lot, Jenny and Tim. The bedroom on the upper floor belongs to the nicest and cosiest we've ever had. Jenny and Tim put so much effort and care into it to make you feel at ease. Not to forget the views of course. Youn wake up in the mornings and right from your pillow you have the most stunning views through the bay window across the Channel to France. So relaxing to sit up in bed with a nice cup of tea and watching the ferry boats pass by. The same goes for the very pretty and well-kept terrace outside the lounge, which also offers spectacular views. The house is right on the coastal footpath from which you have beautiful walks to Dover (make sure you stop by at Mrs. Knott's tearoom in the lighthouse!!) and towards Deal (you shouldn't miss Walmer Castle with its beautiful gardens, where Wellington spent a lot of his time and where he died). We can also highly recommend the walk from Folkstone to Dover, Sandwich and of course Canterbury. Just marvelous!
