The Brake forms an idyllic rural milieu between the historic golf city of St Andrews and the beautiful fishing villages of Crail and Anstruther and Ellie.
Beautifully restored and converted stone stables built in 1734 provide a cosy and comfortable double-bedroom self-contained cottage within a peaceful and secluded country setting. You have your own private walled garden with patio area and endless walks through farmland and woodland on your doorstep. Local pheasants and deer frequently come to visit, while birds of prey, badgers, hares and even red squirrels are also regularly spotted.
We know how important it is to get away with the whole family. Babes in arms are welcome, with a travel cot and high chair available on request. Meanwhile, up to 2 well-behaved dogs are also welcome, although we do ask you to keep them on a lead when out for a walk due to our inquisitive sheep (and lambs in Spring), and that they stay off of the furniture and bed. Please note there is a one off charge for dogs of £20 per stay to cover the inevitable extra cleaning.
Please use a crate if leaving your pet(s) in the cottage (presuming they are not distressed if left ).
Brake Cottage has everything you need for a romantic break, golfing holiday or just somewhere civilised to stay when visiting your offspring at Uni. Get cosy with both wood burning stove and controllable central heating. Brake Cottage all has a fully equipped kitchen to include dishwasher & washing machine if you wish to self cater. There is a well appointed wet-room shower room off of the beautiful comfy bedroom with super-king bed (OR twin single beds on request).
Brake Cottage offers free WiFi broadband and SkyQ TV with storage for golf clubs or bicycles, should you wish to be more active.

St Andrews is only 5 minutes away by car for history, golf, scenery, shops, restaurants and bars. Anstruther, with its busy harbour and famous fish bars is only 10 minutes away. Beautiful unspoilt beaches are as little as 5 minutes away where there's every chance that you won't see another soul.
