Nutcombe Cottage is a Grade II listed detached bank barn conversion and is one of three cottages at Nutcombe Holiday Cottages. It has been restored to very high standards with exposed beams, English oak flooring, granite worktops and a limestone shower room.
Nestled in our own secluded valley on the edge of Exmoor National Park with truly beautiful countryside views, Nutcombe Cottage offers a peaceful getaway in a stunning location yet is within easy reach of all local attractions and the beach.
THE SPACE:
The cottage offers luxury reverse open plan living with the lounge and kitchen/diner on the first floor accessed from the rear at upper ground level. The two bedrooms are located on the lower ground level along with the shared shower room.
OUTSIDE SPACE:
There is direct access from both bedrooms onto the south facing sun terrace and fully enclosed grassed garden area. There you will find dining furniture with sun umbrella as well as two sun loungers where you can sit and relax and admire the views. In addition to the enclosed garden, there is a raised deck area off the lounge with seating for four; perfect for breakfast.
UPPER GROUND FLOOR:
The open plan lounge/ kitchen/diner has a 48" Smart TV, a large comfortable corner sofa to curl up on for cosy nights in and solid oak furniture. The fully equipped kitchen has a Smeg fridge/freezer, ceramic hob and electric oven, dishwasher, microwave, washer/dryer and everything you need in the kitchen along with comfortable seating for 4 people. There is an information folder with our favourite places to eat and visit and details of dog restrictions on local beaches.
LOWER GROUND FLOOR
Bedroom One:
The king size bedroom has a large double oak wardrobe with drawers, a beautiful wrought iron Gothic style bed with super comfy, pocket sprung/memory foam mattress and great views over the garden to the fields beyond. There is also a utility cupboard which houses the iron and ironing board and hoover.
Bedroom Two
The twin bedroom also has a large double oak wardrobe as well as a dressing table with mirror equipped with a hairdryer. The twin beds with pocket sprung/memory foam mattresses can be zip-linked together to create a Super-king bedroom, making the property perfect for two couples.
Also on this floor is the limestone shower room with luxurious double size walk in rainfall shower, basin and WC.
YOUNGER VISITORS:
For our younger visitors we can provide a full size wooden cot and highchair together with plastic cutlery/mugs/plates & bowls, a step up stool and changing mat.
Other Information:
Water is supplied from our own spring through a rigorous filtration system that is regularly inspected by NDDC. We also have our own Biodigester sewage system.
DOGS:
We happily accept up to two dogs over 18 months old and provide throws for the furniture. We do however, ask that dogs to be kept off the furniture (without throws) and kept upstairs in the living area and they cannot be left unattended in the cottage. A stair-gate is fixed at the top of the stairs to make this easier and to help keep children safe.
We also supply a mat for bowls, two dog bowls, a few poop bags, Identity tags so your dog doesnt get lost on their holiday.
Visitors with dogs also have access to our dog garden and 3 acre field where you are welcome to exercise your dog or just observe the abundance of wildlife including, rabbits, badgers, the occasional deer and plenty of birds and buzzards flying overhead.
