This pretty and quaint shepherd’s hut is set within the grounds of the East Hill Pride Farm Shop, which is family run and showcases a café serving homecooked food and a shop selling delicious cakes, pasties, fresh meat, local produce and a range of artisan products. The accommodation is set amongst the fruit and vegetable plants, with spectacular countryside views overlooking Woodbury Common in the distance.
The shepherd’s hut comprises of a double bed accessed via one side of the bed, a small table and chairs, and a simple kitchenette area with a bowl for rinsing a few dishes, a microwave, kettle, toaster and an under-counter fridge. There is a private external shower room located just a few metres walk away across the grounds from the accommodation.
Outside, guests can enjoy the spectacular views whilst having a barbecue on the charcoal firepit which has a grill. The farm shop has a range of charcoal, logs and kindling for sale to really get those summer vibes burning. Relax on a picnic bench on the lawn and enjoy homemade burgers and sausages, or local pork chops, steak or bacon, all available from the on-site farm shop. You can even wash it all down with a perfectly ice cold glass of Ventons Draught Devon Cider!
The Regency seaside town of Sidmouth is located only a 5-minute drive away. This property is a superb base for a couple looking to explore the town’s pebbly beach, coastal paths and a range of restaurants, shops and cafés. Take in the beautiful views of the Jurassic Coast, which stretches for 95 miles and has over 185 million years of history. The town and the seafront offer a wide range of sporting activities, while quiet serenity can be enjoyed in the various parks and gardens. Most of the surrounding countryside has been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty or is owned by the National Trust, and the nationally renowned South West Coast Path can easily be accessed. You’ll struggle to fit everything into one visit and you will certainly want to stay time and time again!
