There are an abundance of walks from the door including Great Mell Fell which leads to Aira Force and the Caldbeck Fells are a short drive. Lake Ullswater offers numerous watersport opportunities including canoeing, wind surfing and paddle boarding, or if a quieter way of life if preferred jump aboard the Ullswater Steamers and take in the views as you sail around the lake. The Rheged centre with shops, cinema and galleries are a short drive away, as is Dalemain House and the Alpaca Centre.
