Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Beautiful location, very quiet, never seen so many Pheasants. No luck with the Red Squirrel, but maybe next time. Loved the stream at the bottom of the garden. The kitchen area is fantastic, and we loved cooking in it, so much so that we only ate out once. Fantastic views of Barrow and Catbells and both easy to get to from the front door. It's a real shame that the local pub has closed, but again, this did not detract from our stay. The master bedroom is stunning and we had a very relaxing stay. Overall, it is an exceptional cottage. The welcome basket was much appreciated and a lovely touch.

Negative: The lounge was cooler than the rest of the house, but there is a multi-fuel burner, which is lovely once it's going. Bit disappointed that there was no coal and not enough logs to keep us going for the week, but we bought extra to keep us going.
