The property provides guests with luxurious accommodations with contemporary flourishes and characterful features throughout to ensure a comfortable stay. The cottage caters for up to 4 guests and is situated in a delightful village which itself offers convenient access to neighbouring villages including historic Lavenham and the nearby cathedral town of Bury St Edmunds.
On the ground floor, the property has its own front door which enters into a stylish tiled entrance hall with bespoke branded matting where a glass door opens into the kitchen/dining room. This area benefits from underfloor heating below a rustic flagstone flooring with a dining table and chairs which comfortably seats up to six guests. The dining area lies adjacent to the island kitchen which has been finished with quartz worksurfaces and a range of integrated appliances including a fridge, freezer, electric combination oven, microwave, dishwasher, induction hob and washing machine. There is also a kettle, toaster and coffee machine as well as well-stocked kitchen cupboards with ample cookware. A large atrium-style sky-light bathes the kitchen in natural light while bi-folding doors open back to bring the outside in.
The sitting room contains parquet wood effect flooring and plush sofa and chairs as well as a wall-mounted smart TV. An exposed brick chimney breast contains a wood-burning stove to allow guests to enjoy a cosy evening watching a film with the fire roaring. Upstairs, two king-size double bedrooms are each served by their own en-suite (one with a bath with shower over, the other with a shower) and they have been finished with high-end marble effect tiles and rainfall-style shower heads.
Outside, the rear garden is private and enclosed with a coal-fired BBQ and a sheltered area of seating with a rattan furniture set. In front of the property, parking can be found along the street itself as well as Church Hill just around the corner.
Monks Eleigh itself is a delightful village with a beautiful range of architecture having once been a medieval wool village, as so many villages in this area are, including historic Lavenham which lies approximately a 5-minute drive away. Monks Eleigh contains a public house (The Swan) and a village store/post office as well as plenty of footpaths for countryside walks. The neighbouring village of Chelsworth also contains one of the area’s most highly regarded gastro pubs (The Peacock Inn). Lavenham contains a wide variety of facilities including a number of pubs, restaurants, cafes and tea rooms, independent retailers, a local butcher and even a hotel and spa (it is recommended to book in advance). The Grade I listed Guildhall is worth a visit as are Melford Hall and Ickworth Park, all controlled by the National Trust. The cathedral town of Bury St Edmunds lies around 16 miles away with a medieval quarter, many fine restaurants and plenty of attractions including the stunning Abbey Gardens. The ancient market town of Hadleigh is also nearby and contains many amenities including supermarkets, a leisure centre and a petrol station.
