Situated 1 mile from the market town of Broughton-in-Furness, the beautiful Dudden Valley, Coniston Water and Lake Windermere are within half an hour’s drive, as well as the South Lakes Animal Park at Dalton, Muncaster Castle and Gardens and Holker Hall and Gardens. Visit attractions such as the popular owl sanctuary and the Ravenglass to Eskdale Miniature Steam Railway. Also visit the Roman Bath in the Eskdale Valley and the Hardknott Roman Fort. Lake Coniston, with its many walking and cycling routes is also within easy reach. The reserves at Walney Island and Hodbarrow are great for bird watching. Tennis courts are available for hire in the village. Beach 10 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
