Hadrian’s wall is a spectacular World Heritage Site where you will find dramatic countryside and Roman Forts along the way, and where you can also visit the famous tree in ’Sycamore Gap’, featured in ’Robin Hood’. Newcastle is a vibrant city where you can admire the grand historic architecture or wander along the rejuvenated quayside, or perhaps visit the museums and galleries, including the Baltic for the wonderful views. If you wish to enjoy one of the restaurants or bars you can take one of the metro trains and enjoy the city without having the hassle of driving.
