Why not climb the 199 steps up to Whitby Abbey, where the mythical creature is said to have climbed from the shipwreck just off this wonderful coastline, for a fantastic view down across the town. Although famous for award-winning fish and chips, Whitby has a lot more to offer from Michelin star restaurants and gastropubs, to pubs offering live music and real ales.
