For a really interesting hour or two, visit the last working flour mill on the river Otter - it’s in the village and the flour is superb. There’s much to do and see in this beautiful and unspoilt area but if you want to explore further afield, the open spaces and high tors of Dartmoor can be reached in under an hour while the Cathedral city of Exeter with its superb shopping centre, cinemas, clubs and restaurants is a mere 10 miles.
