This beautiful, newly renovated grade 2 listed, self-catering coastguard cottage, in the quiet backwater of Snowhill Creek, West Wittering is the perfect beach retreat for families or couples or as a quieter retreat out of the main holiday season for walkers, water sports enthusiasts and for bird watching. As it is regularly used by the owners and only available to rent for a minimum of weeks, it feels lived in with a well stocked larder. We ask guests to simply replace anything used/finished and to respect our home.
Coastguard Cottage is uniquely located on the quiet Snowhill Creek but within a few hundred metres of the magnificent West Wittering sandy beach, the National Trust's East Head, RSPB Bird Reserve and Chichester harbour. This end of terrace cottage has its own recently 'designed' small cottage garden and is conveniently tucked away along a private road.
As the name suggests, this cottage is one of the original terraced coastguard cottages of West Wittering, renovated in 2021, it combines the modern with it's original character and has a cosy and friendly atmosphere for up to 6 guests. A warming kitchen Aga or the new wood log burner will comfort winter guests after crisp beach walks on West Wittering's National Trust beach and dune systems. In summer the light coloured interiors, small but pretty cottage garden and table and chairs for outside dining, make for a truly delightful summer holiday retreat. There's even a warm shower outside to wash your feet after a hot day on the beach! Downstairs is a comfortable sitting room with open plan dining area, new kitchen with Aga as well as a downstairs modern shower room and toilet. Back door and lobby for walking boots and sandy shoes. Upstairs are 3 good sized bedrooms and a bathroom with small bath and hand held shower head.

Coastguard Cottage: sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms, kingsized, standard double and a twin. Open plan living/dining room/desk in alcove. Seperate kitchen leading onto the rear entrance/boot utility space to small paved area with a warm outdoor shower. Dowstairs shower room/toilet and upstairs bathroom/toilet, garden with patio area, BBQ, dining table and fire pit and on street parking.

Living room with comfortable seating, window seat and newly fitted log burner, Smart TV books and games.
Dining area for 7 with some bench seating
Newly fitted modern kitchen, very well equipped as this is a home used regularly by the owners. Aga, halogen hob, half size dishwasher, fridge freezer, armchairs by the Aga, Nespresso Coffee Machine and a Magimix, washing machine. Pantry area for food storage.
First Floor:
Bedroom 1 (sleeps 2) Kingsized bed, large wardrobe and a seperate chest of draws, en suite (shared with bed 2)
Bedroom 2 Standard Double, en suite (shared) with master bedroom.
Bedroom 3 Single bed and a bunk bed. Also room for a travel cot.
Outside:
Front garden, outdoor furniture, sun lounger, BBQ, fire pit, lawn
Rear entrance to small paved area with outside shower and gated access to creek.

Parking for one car only on private road outside the cottage. More parking in public car parks or in the main village.
As the coittage is historic, the stairs are 'steep' and open sided - care needed and possibly unsuitable for those with limited mobility or very young children.
This is a characterful, listed property, small, compact and cosy, lovingly restored.
