Positive: We loved the property. It's very quirky (in a good way) and much bigger than we expected. We went as two couples and had ample space with two equally spacious and comfortable double rooms and three bathrooms. The historic nature of the property has been maintained beautifully with the original floors, wooden staircases and a lovely fireplace among many of the attractions. At the same time though, the kitchen and bathrooms had all the facilities of a modern holiday property. The beds are comfy and everywhere was very clean and well kitted out. It's also very cosy and warm. The outside space is a haven for birds and other wildlife and James and Jennifer are making great efforts to support biodiversity and sustainability. Falling asleep to the hooting of a nearby owl was an unexpected bonus. James was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. He was also keen to stress that we could wander freely round the grounds which we enjoyed. The property makes a great base for exploring the surrounding area and we looked forward to getting back to it at the end of the day.

Negative: Nothing.

Summary: A lovely long weekend break. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here for longer.
