Orford Lodge Barn is a newly converted 2-bedroom cottage decorated and furnished to a very high standard and located within 5 mins walk from Orford.
Comfy, modern and airy, a great spot for weekends away in the country. Tennis court access available upon request at our sister property in Iken.
The cottage provides light and airy accommodation suitable for four guests and benefits from a private courtyard – great for sunny days and family BBQs. Three noisy Norfolk Terries live at the main house – but rest assured the barn is separate yet the dogs will be in the main garden at some point. Orford Lodge Barn is located in the middle of Suffolk on the East Coast of England, only two and a half hours from London.
Steeped in history and culture from the Vikings and the Romans, the barn, has in fact, even been mentioned in historical records dating as far back as 14th century. Its’ surrounding area provides a sensational location for birdwatchers, walkers, bikers and sailors but also an oasis of tranquillity for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
The cottage is split in two levels, with the kitchen and lounge on the ground floor and the bedrooms and bathroom on the floor above.
The space is set up as an open plan living room, the sitting area is furnished with one comfy sofa and two armchairs, coffee table, Freeview TV is available. The kitchen comes fully equipped with crockery and glassware, a dishwasher, full size oven, microwave and cleaning materials. The dining area is stunning with a large table for four.
There is also an adjoining garage where guests can find a separate washing machine/tumble dryer as well as a drying rack, iron board and iron. In this place there is also a freezer, another toilet and sink unit with spray tap for dog washing. Access to this unit is only allowed upon request.
Access to our private tennis court can be granted upon request. Please note that the tennis court is open seasonally subject to weather conditions. Should you wish to use it please let us know prior your arrival and do not forget to bring along your rackets and tennis balls. The tennis court is located at our sister property, located 3.3 miles away.

The cottage can accommodate 4 guests either in a combination of two king-size beds or one king/2 singles beds (please advise when booking). In between this level and the ground floor there are a few stairs so please take note before booking in case you or any of your guests suffer from mobility issues.
Needless to say, all bed linen, towels, tea towels are provided. Baby cots are also available upon requests.
There is a private garden equipped with table and chairs (great for warm days and BBQ). Please note the cottage this accommodation is offered on a non-smoking basis.
LONG STAYS
As we strive to maintain the highest standards we impose that long-stays and bookings staying longer than 12 days have additional cleaning session(s) - scheduled fortnightly. An extra £90 will apply for each new cleaning session and this is not automatically calculated in the displayed rate.
