Shepherd’s Cottage is a semi-detached cottage that was formerly a farm worker’s residence as its name suggests. It has been tastefully renovated and offers a comfortable, homely atmosphere and great character. Downstairs, offers a open plan living space with the living area at the front. The beautiful chestnut wood flooring originally came from trees on the farm and there is a gorgeous wood-burner, perfect for a relaxing winter’s night! The kitchen has a shake-style kitchen with stone worktops and the original slate floor gives a farmhouse feel. There is also an extendable table that seats up to six in comfort. At the back of the cottage there is a shower room which also houses the washer/dryer. The back door leads out into a sunny garden with a large patio and garden furniture and a Weber charcoal barbecue for you to use on sunny summer evenings. Upstairs, the kingsize bedroom has a washbasin and a large sash window with stunning views over the surrounding fields and woodland. There is also a cosy twin room and another slightly smaller room with full size bunk beds. The family bathroom on this floor has been totally renovated in 2019 and has a bath with rainfall shower over. Here you can soak away your cares, or just soak your tired and sandy children after a day spent rock pooling on the beach.
There is a gate through to a lovely wildflower meadow and children’s play area, complete with a tractor! As well as the woodburner, Shepherd’s Cottage is centrally heated and has all the standard facilities that are offered. Hotel quality white bed linen and big fluffy towels are all provided, as well as tea-towels, bath mats and environmentally friendly cleaning materials. Carswell put delicious local organic milk in the fridge for your arrival with their compliments, along with enough recycled paper toilet rolls, Fair Trade tea, coffee, sugar and local organic herbal tea to get you started!
