Positive: Well equipped and beautifully appointed cottage. The beds were very comfortable with plenty of hanging space in the rear bedroom, no wardrobe in the front bedroom. Good lighting in the bathroom with a passive night light for those who have to nip in in the 'wee' small hours. Quality fittings in the kitchen along with a small selection of provisions I.e. tea and coffee. There is a small seating area in the back yard which catches the afternoon sun and off road parking for 2 cars at the front. It was a little bit chilly on the day of our arrival but the cottage was very warm, the central heating had been put on for us. The underfloor heating in the kitchen is very comfy underfoot but we did switch it off it was so warm. In the village there is a small convenience store which is well stocked but I wouldn't recommend a weekly shop there. The pub opposite the cottage is very pleasant and the meals are edible but uninspiring. However, a fish and chip van comes to the village on Friday evenings, delicious food. Staplecross is located within 30 - 60 mins drive to major attractions. We'd definitely recommend this cottage for a small family or a couple of friends.

Negative: The wi fi and general signal strength is not great, on one occasion I had to go to the end of the street to make a call. Not a major problem but might frustrate avid phone/ Internet users. I did get a lot of duplicated messages from the owners regarding access to the cottage and what to do on leaving. I'm sure that they wanted me to be reassured that they were available if any issues occurred but it did seem to be a lot of correspondance.
