3 Bedroom Cottage in Milford on Sea, Lymington
We love Milford on Sea. The village green is 90 seconds from Saltwater Cottage, which means that the butcher, baker, grocer, top coffee shop, quirky independent supermarket and candlestick seller are within a stone's throw. Even closer is The Wash House, a microbrewery (or some regard) where you can play board games, and order in your food from local amazing foodie places; there are loads, it's a real destination here.
The cottage itself has been recently renovated, beautifully put together for guests, there are two good sized bedrooms for 4 and on the top floor (up steep stairs) another room for 2. The garden is long, well fenced and great for sunbathing.
Kids will love the massive park just behind the house but really the joy here is the miles and miles of beach which is sandy at mid-low tide. The sand bar that is uncovered at very low tide creates a shallow lagoon behind it for warm summer splashing. Perfection.

Inside
Walk through the front door into the cosy sitting room area followed by a kitchen/dining room. It's a clever space. The kitchen, which was brand new in 2020, is very stylish yet practical. There is a table to fit 6 so everyone can get around for family meals.
There are two oversized arm chairs for lounging and yet more chatting. It's a clever spot to put them; they get all the light and with the patio doors open you can sit here and be inside/outside at the same time.
Cottage stairs (steep) take you up the middle of the house and bedrooms on the first floor are nicely separated by a really good size family bathroom, so you get privacy, not so usual in terraced cottage homes! The master is at the back of the house overlooking the garden with the double/twin at the front of the house.
Very steep stairs take you up to the attic room which can simultaneously be used as a separate lounging/quiet room with the two singles beds used as sofas plus the comfy bean bags too, or as another bedroom.
Outside
The large patio door opens from the kitchen-dining area onto broad decking which is set up for enjoying the sun and having BBQ's. The garden is lawned and long, great for small children to stretch their legs or to play swing ball or boules (provided)!

Home truths
The stairs going up to the third floor are steep and not suitable for anyone who is a bit wobbly, they are narrow and steep. Older folk may well struggle here.

Accessibility
Downstairs the house has no steps. The stairs to the first floor have one side handrail. The bathroom is on the first floor and has a roll top bath and separate shower. The second set of stairs to the top floor bedroom are narrow and steep. Older folk may well struggle here.
Garden: There is a small, long, private garden at the back of the cottage. Access through the house only. Charcoal BBQ.
Kitchen: Gas hob with large oven / Under counter fridge / Washing machine & Tumble dryer in one / Slimline dishwasher / Microwave / Kettle / Toaster / Nespresso Coffee machine
Mod Cons: Smart TV & DVD player in Lounge. Super fast fibre broadband/ Wifi and overall good mobile phone service, Vodafone not the best.
Parking: There is some parking on the street just along from the house and a small public car park just a few minutes walk away. A parking clock is provided for guests so parking is free for you here and in the other council car parks across the forest too!
Kids stuff: There is a good selection of kids kit at the house; books, games and toys. A travel cot and highchair are provided.
Pets: Up to two dogs welcome here for a small charge, and downstairs only please.

We want our guests to enjoy the use of the property and have a memorable time while staying with us. We have a few house rules to note, as follows;
- The property can not be used for parties or private events of any kind.
- No groups under the age of 25.
- Strictly no stag/hen dos or same-sex groups.
- Additional guests, are not permitted without prior approval.
- No music after 9pm
- We must be notified of any pets at the time of booking. Dogs are subject to a charge per dog, per stay.
